Question: Is it just me, or are the women on Game of Thrones doing all the interesting things this season, wielding all of the power, and demonstrating most of the ruthlessness?  (Answer: It’s not me. Or I.) Exhibit A: Lena Headey as Cersie Lannister.

Question: Is it just me, or is Mad Men turning into a period fable about disconnected doppelgangers, with Jon Hamm’s Don Draper at one end of a dark mirror, his new agency partner at the other end, and Elisabeth Moss’s Peggy caught in the middle? (Answer: It’s not me. Or I. Especially since tonight's episode is titled "A Tale of Two Cities." For corroboration and elucidation, see Eric Gould’s Cold Light Reader.)

Because of last week’s pre-emption, this is only Episode 3 of this new Christopher Guest series, so its hero (played so amiably by Chris O’Dowd) is still investigating his family tree in the United Kingdom. Last episode, in search of information about his family roots, he made a horse’s ass of himself (literally, as part of a two-man costumed athletic competition). Tonight, sister Bea (Nina Conti, who’s great) takes her talking monkey puppet and accepts a job as a wedding

If you’re a few superhero blockbuster movies behind, or just nostalgic for the good old days of 2010, here’s a chance to see the second Iron Man film in what, right now, is a three-movie franchise – one of the most popular in history, according to national and global box-office receipts. Robert Downey, Jr. stars – and in this particular movie, Mickey Rourke’s villain is about as charmless as Downey’s Tony Stark is charming.

This 2012 movie, starring but not directed by Clint Eastwood, has him playing a veteran baseball scout whose estranged daughter, Amy Adams, is just as intuitive and perceptive as he is – and just as stubborn, which makes their relationship a tricky one.

Hugo Weaving stars as the masked vigilante in this futuristic thriller, which looks at terrorism from the eyes (or behind the mask) of a rebel with a cause. But in this 2006 thriller set in Great Britain, the real scene-stealer is Natalie Portman. As young Evey, not only does she get to act without wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, but she adopts three very different personas along the way: unaware young woman, kidnapped and converted terrorist, and seductive bait used to distract and set up a corrupt

In the third quarter of Thursday’s Game 5 of this series, LeBron James of the Miami Heat singlehandedly outscored the entire opposing Indiana Pacers team. The game went to the Heat as a result, giving the team a 3-2 edge in this surprisingly competitive series, and the chance to finish the series tonight on the Pacers’ home court. But if Indiana holds firm, the Game 7 of this series will be one to really anticipate.
