More with Julia and Jaques
August 11, 2012  | By Eric Gould

Tom Brinkmoeller interviewed Jaques Pepin and recounts the revival of Julia Child when they teamed up on their hit PBS series, Julia Child & Jacques Pépin Cooking at Home. On the celebration of her 100th birthday, PBS is running many tributes to her legacy on their website. Their natural admiration and affection for one another was a vital ingredient for their PBS success, even though Julia once brought a pistol to the kitchen – OK, a starter's pistol – to start the race between Pepin whipping eggs with a spoon, and her doing it with an electric blender. —EG
