The comedian's death at age 66 generated many testimonials of praise. One of the best was from fan Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC, who clearly revered Shandling and put together a collection of memories from some of Shandling's most notable colleagues. Shandling had two breakthrough shows – It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and The Larry Sanders Show -- and both changed comedy on television for the better. He also advanced the careers of many of those people, allowing them to bring out the best in themselves rather than just fitting into the molds of television comedy as it then existed. What a legacy. -- Jim Davis
