SERIES RETURN: Or, more accurately, MINISERIES RETURN, because this new reboot of 24, while covering a fast-moving 24-hour period, covers it so quickly that, by skipping some hours in the narrative, it’ll be over in 12 one-hour installments. The first two hours premiere tonight, and have Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) resurfacing in London, along with former CTU colleague Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub), as both hunters and quarry. The series, after a four-year dormancy, starts strongly, and quickly establishes conflicts and characters both new and old. Kim Raver is back as Audrey Heller, William Devane is back as her politician father (now President), and, from Chuck, Yvonne Strahovski joins the cast as a CIA agent who suspects Bauer is up to something in London – and she’s right. Welcome back, Jack.
