All weekend long, TCM is showing war movies in honor of Memorial Day. Tonight in prime time, 1967's The Dirty Dozen is an obvious highlight, starring Lee Marvin as an officer who leads a group of convicts on a seeming suicide mission to target Nazi officers at a remote location, with the promise of a full pardon for the convicts should they complete both their training and their mission, and return. But also, set your recorders for 1:30 a.m. ET, and catch 1970’s Kelly’s Heroes, another classic behind-enemy-lines mission. Both movies, by coincidence, feature Telly Savalas and Donald Sutherland.
