Frozen Planet

Discovery, 8:00 p.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: If you have a high-definition, widescreen TV set, consider this required viewing. It’s the latest BBC-Discovery Channel co-production from the makers of Planet Earth, and it’s truly majestic – except for one flaw, which, along with the rest of this visually stunning series, I describe in detail in Bianculli’s Blog HERE. In addition to televising two episodes of this new documentary tonight on its own network, the folks at Discovery are spreading the wealth among all its sister stations, so you can also tune in to simulcasts on Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery and the Science Channel. (And all the ratings, by the way, get reported as an aggregate whole.)
