IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE
April 29, 2013  | By David Bianculli

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

The title of this 1953 movie is more famous, and more memorable, than the movie itself. But it has some definite claims to fame, including a story (and co-screenplay credit) by Ray Bradbury, and the fact that it’s one of the era’s biggest efforts in a then-popular cinematic gimmick known as 3-D. Ah, how silly Hollywood was 60 years ago, thinking that a gimmick as obvious as 3-D could actually bring people into theaters!
