So here it is. The first full day of March Madness, with 16 games spread over various networks in a deliriously crammed 12-hour stretch. The action starts at noon ET on CBS, with Notre Dame (seeded No. 3 in the Midwest region) playing Northeastern (seeded No. 14), and ending just before 10 p.m. ET on truTV with the tipoff of Georgetown (No. 4 in the South) vs. Eastern Washington (No. 13). In between: 14 other games, including, at 9:40 pm. ET on CBS, the undefeated No. 1 Midwest seed Kentucky, favored to win the entire tournament, against No. 16 Hampton, which just squeaked into the tournament and now gets to face this year’s Goliath. The other No. 1 seed playing today is Villanova, in the East region, which plays No. 16 seed Lafayette at 6:50 p.m. ET on TBS. Also providing tournament coverage today: TNT. Four networks, 16 games, 32 teams. And it happens again tomorrow: same numbers, different rosters. Whew.
