October 14, 2012  | By David Bianculli

Various Networks, 4:00 p.m. ET

Game 1 of the American League Championship Series didn't end until 1 a.m. ET this morning, when the Detroit Tigers, after seeing its 4-0 lead over the New York Yankees evaporate in the bottom of the ninth, persevered and won in the 12th. Those teams retake the field at Yankee Stadium for Game 2 at 4 p.m. ET, with coverage provided by TBS. Then, at 8 p.m. ET, the National League Championship Series begins, with Fox providing prime-time coverage. The San Francisco Giants enjoy home-field advantage for Game 1, against the St. Louis Cardinals.
