Popeye

HBO Family, 8:45 p.m. ET

Long before most filmmakers thought it was acceptable, much less profitable, to mine cartoons and comic books for feature films, Robert Altman took a major risk with this 1980 feature – and doubled down by making it a musical, to boot. Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall star as Popeye and Olive Oyl, and you have to wonder: Was this Olive Oyl an extra virgin? While pondering that, enjoy the music, and the weird, witty lyrics: They’re by Harry Nilsson, in one of the most overlooked elements of his compositional canon.

Cool, I didn't know that they really made a movie for POPEYE series.
The characters seems to look really from cartoons.
I wonder if they are still selling copy for this film.
