Jamie Foxx is tonight’s guest host, and Ne-Yo is the musical guest. Foxx is an old hand at sketch comedy: In addition to hosting SNL once before, he also clocked three years on Fox’s In Living Color in the early Nineties. Ne-Yo, on the other hand, is a relative Ne-Yophyte.

I liked the promo and the rest of the show disregarding the opening monologue was great. The Swarovski Crystals skit was my favorite of the night. Jamie Foxx works well in comedy, and he definitely brought some of the In Living Color hilarity to SNL. I was working late at DISH last night so I couldn’t see the show live. A while back, I set up my Hopper from DISH to automatically record the show so I can watch it the next morning. It is nice being able to have the entire season on my DVR with more than enough recording space left for the rest of my favorite shows. Jamie Foxx did great on the show, but I’m looking forward to seeing Martin Short host!
