THE MOANING OF LIFE
February 8, 2014  | By David Bianculli

Science Channel, 10:00 p.m. ET

Tonight’s show really ought to be called The Moaning of Death, because Death, not Life, is tonight’s topic. And in his travels this week examining that topic, Karl Pilkington visits, among other stops, Ghana, where he visits a place that makes custom coffins – and orders a special two-person casket for himself and his girlfriend Suzanne. It’s a casket big enough to accommodate two adults, with a handy divider in between – and it’s made in the same shape as a giant double-bar wrapper of Twix. Which is a ridiculous idea for a two-adult coffin – because, as we all know, Twix are for kids. (Okay, so it’s Trix. But Karl didn’t order a casket shaped like a giant cereal box. Work with me here.)
