NOVA: "THE PLANETS: THE ICE WORLDS"
January 29, 2020  | By David Bianculli

PBS, 9:00 p.m. ET

In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, most of us learned, long long ago, that “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” Apparently, that allegory extends to planetary bodies as well. The first editions of this Nova series dedicated to The Planets set aside an hour each for the planets Jupiter and Saturn – but this week’s edition, called Ice Worlds, includes both Neptune and Uranus, as well as the recently demoted planetary body of Pluto. That’s a third of the planets in our solar system that I was taught in high school, all crammed into a single hour. And to me, it just feels wrong to be do any cramming, especially with Uranus. Check local listings.
