MONTEREY POP
March 10, 2020  | By David Bianculli

TCM, 6:30 p.m. ET

D.A. Pennebaker directed this 1968 film about that year’s Monterey Pop Festival – the California music fair that set the stage for Woodstock, and that served as a launching pad for such talents as Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, The Who – and Jimi Hendrix, making this a real Purple Haze of an afternoon TCM double feature.
