PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION: LIVE
YouTube, 8:00 p.m. ET
SPECIAL: Here’s another limited-window streaming TV event well worth seeking out. For a few days only, from tonight through Sunday, the Prince estate is hosting a “watch party,” a charity event supporting the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 response. It’s not a brand new concert, or TV offering: Prince and the Revolution: Live captured the band on stage at Syracuse, NY in 1985, during Prince’s Purple Rain tour, and previously was available on home video and as a TV special. But this streaming TV premiere, coming just one month after CBS’s Grammy Salute to Prince, captures the entertainer at his absolute best. The 20-song set list includes not only such Purple Rain hits as “Let’s Go Crazy,” “When Doves Cry,” “I Would Die 4 U,” and the title track, but also includes “Little Red Corvette,” “1999,” and others. The remastered concert film is available exclusively, for four days only, on the official Prince YouTube Channel.
