Next week, after seven seasons, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. calls it quits, presenting a final episode that was planned, written and filmed before the start of the pandemic. So unlike several TV series caught short by the shutdown, this Marvel series is heading just where it intended. Tonight’s episode, starting with many members of the squad in mortal danger, should do what most of this year’s S.H.I.E.LD. episodes have done – and provide surprises, suspense, and a few touching moments of character interaction.
