2020 PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
September 29, 2020  | By David Bianculli

Various Networks, 9:00 p.m. ET

In 1960, the first televised presidential debate, between Richard Nixon and John Kennedy (pictured), drew 70 million viewers – only two million less than the 1964 Ed Sullivan Show introducing The Beatles to America. The most recent presidential debates – in 2016, between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton – drew an estimated 84 million viewers. And my guess is that this year’s debates, between President Trump and former Vice President Joseph Biden, will set yet another ratings record. Watch – then, by all means, vote. Once is the recommended number, at least by one of the candidates this year.
