This 1963 movie was one of my favorite films growing up – and it still is. Starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, it’s an ultra-stylish story about a young widow in Paris pursued by murderous thieves in search of her late husband’s allegedly hidden, illegally obtained fortune. The city of Paris is filmed beautifully by Stanley Donen, who also makes the most of the obvious chemistry between Grant and Hepburn. I consider this the best Hitchcock movie Alfred Hitchcock never made – and its several plot twists are positively brilliant.
