They don’t make costume dramas like this any more – because no one has the money, and because what was accomplished then with massive sets and thousands of extras is accomplished today by post-production CGI effects. But in this 1963 epic, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Rex Harrison were indeed masters of their domain, and quite a domain it was.
