LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT
September 25, 2015  | By David Bianculli  | 1 comment

CBS, 11:35 p.m. ET

Scandal star Kerry Washington is one of tonight’s scheduled guests, but another guest is the one who’s really drawing me in. I’ve seen her on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and on Ellen DeGeneres’ Ellen talk show, among other places, and each time, she amazes me with her simple, unshakeable humanity: young activist Malala Yousafza, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

How good is the Colbert show? I find him too manic in the early part of the show, so much so that I have not been able to get passed that part of the show. Maybe I could tolerate that if I knew he calmed down and treated the guests more seriously.
