NFL FOOTBALL

Various Networks, 12:30 p.m. ET

There are three games played today, in what once was a single-game Thanksgiving Day tradition. The most interesting, though not necessarily the most competitive, of the bunch is the central one: the 3-7 Dallas Cowboys facing the undefeated 10-0 Carolina Panthers, led by Cam Newton (pictured). That game begins at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The all-day football action, though, begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on Fox, when two losing teams, the 4-6 Philadelphia Eagles and the 3-7 Detroit Lions, try to fight their way one win closer to a .500 record. Then, at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC, the 4-6 Chicago Bears visit the 7-3 Green Bay Packers. At halftime, the Packers will retire Brett Favre’s No. 4 jersey, an event in itself.
