SHADOW OF A DOUBT
August 4, 2015  | By David Bianculli

TCM, 10:15 p.m. ET

For its August celebration of “Summer Under the Stars,” each day is devoted to a different Hollywood luminary. Today it’s Teresa Wright, the actress whose credits include not only 1953’s The Actress (10:45 a.m. ET), but 1942’s Mrs. Miniver (2:30 p.m. ET), 1946’s The Best Years of Our Lives (5 p.m. ET), 1941’s The Little Foxes, and, at 10:15 p.m. ET, this showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s well-paced 1943 character study, starring Wright as a young girl who suspects her beloved uncle (Joseph Cotten) may actually be a ruthless murderer.
