'Breaking Bad' Video As Art
You'd think that a week out from the finale, we would be all done with Breaking Bad material. Uh uh. We're still buzzing. Here's a supercut collaboration from RogerEbert.com contributor Dave Bunting and Press Play compiling some of the signature shots from Season 5.2. The 10-minute reel shows how cinematographer Michael Slovis used tracking, boom shots, selective focus and the TVWW favorite – the up-shot – all with dramatic lighting to help layer the series with motifs and symbols. The overdubbed instrumental soundtrack isolates the pictures – and makes them all the more powerful. – Eric Gould
