In previous recent posts, we detailed the last-minute pulling of a musical cold open for a Doctor Who-themed installment of CBS's The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and how angry he was to have rehearsed the production number for two days, and written special lyrics to the instrumental Doctor Who theme, only to have CBS yank the bit because music rights hadn't been secured. We hoped then the cold open would show up somewhere on the Internet, and it has -- though for how long, given the legal questions, I'm not certain. So dive in quickly, just in case, and enjoy Ferguson's goofy yet knowing take on the nearly 50-year-old sci-fi TV phenomenon...

I wish they'd just put out a DVD of the production numbers: I can't get rid of at least 2 shows on my DVR because they have "Look out there's a monster coming" and "Monster Mash" from earlier Ferguson shows. And I loved that even Secretariat was in this one (on the second viewing I noticed him dancing around in the background as well as the brief appearance earlier).
