As part of its "War Heroes Weekend" of programming, AMC premieres Clint Eastwood's 2006 adaptation of Flags of Our Fathers, the non-fiction book by James Bradley and Ron Powers that tells the stories of the five Marines and Navy corpsman who raised the flag on Iwo Jima, and the effects the event had on their lives. The film — told from an American point of view — is followed at 11 p.m. ET by Letters from Iwo Jima, Eastwood's equally-compelling 2006 film told from the Japanese perspective. AMC's four-day programming salute is hosted by Tom Brokaw.
