Happy Birthday, Mr. Rogers

This week, on March 20, Fred Rogers would have turned 85. In 1997, when Rogers accepted a lifetime achievement award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the humble creator and host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood chose not to focus on himself, but instead used his allotted time to ask the audience to take ten seconds to "think of the people who have helped you become who you are." Seems like a beautiful day to take ten seconds to remember one of television's most inspiring icons.

He has been such a wonderful model for me, for my children when they were young, for my grandson as we watched his videos and DVDs. He helped me become who I am.
