Homeland Insecurity
November 12, 2012  | By Eric Gould

The Emmy-winning Showtime series Homeland hasn't escaped mockery, with Anne Hathaway stepping into the Claire Danes role of Carrie Mathison for a Saturday Night Live sketch last weekend. Hathaway amped up and compressed two seasons of Mathison character tics into the four-minute sketch, including Carrie's cry face, which makes it look like "her mouth is completely upside down." (Which come to think of it, is pretty regular, and pretty startling.) The sketch nailed a lot of the Homeland traits, including sullen teenage character Dana Brody's knack for showing up in unlikely spots with relative (and credibility-stretching) ease. A couple of TVWW readers have chimed in on that one recently. –EG
