JFK Funeral, November 25, 1963
The body of slain President John F. Kennedy lay in the East Room of the White House and was carried by a horse-drawn caisson to the U.S. Capitol on November 24 to lie in state where hundreds of thousands lined up to view the casket. The funeral took place the next day with representatives of over 90 countries attending. Here are clips from those two days – all in color footage not usually associated with the events of the day since the many photographs and television broadcasts at the time were all recorded in black and white. – EG
