MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD
January 7, 2013  | By David Bianculli

PBS and local member stations no longer provide enough regular time slots for the late Fred Rogers’ brilliantly sincere TV series, so parents have to pick up the slack for themselves. Entire seasons can be viewed cheaply at Amazon Video and elsewhere, but there are still some DVD stand-alone episodes worth collecting on DVD. Some are out of print, but others, like Making Music: Music as a Way to Express Feelings, in which Mister Rogers visits both Yo-Yo Ma and the dancers from Stomp, are available – and a great starting place for introducing a new generation of the soothing, inspirational shows of Fred Rogers – DB
