THERE WILL BE BLOOD
May 28, 2012  | By David Bianculli

Sundance, 7:15 p.m. ET

Sundance presents the 2007 film that enshrined the unlikely line "I … drink … your milkshake!!" into the national psyche. The brilliant-yet-harsh saga stars Daniel Day Lewis as a gold prospector in early 20th century Texas who finds oil — literally with his bare hands — and then proceeds to acquire deals, by any means necessary to build his empire. It's written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who also helmed the landmark film, Magnolia, in 1999. Lewis won the Best Actor Oscar for his unrelenting performance.
