This ABC series, created by Winnie Holzman and executive produced by Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick, lasted only one season in 1994-95, but what a season it was! Claire Danes portrayed 15-year-old Angela Chase, a teenager trying to cope with everyday life, love and angst, in a brilliant family drama that presented life from her point of view. Danes was indeed 15 when the series premiered, and her performance is nuanced, touching, and unforgettable – the same praise you could lavish upon her when she finally returned to TV, starring in HBO’s Temple Grandin and Showtime’s Homeland.
