[UPDATED Friday 8 p.m. ET - Say adios, Angels. ABC has killed its lifeless remake of Charlie's Angels, shutting down production on the Thursday night dud.]
[UPDATED Thursday 9 p.m. ET - Additional renewals, this time from ABC, with full seasons for Suburgatory and Revenge. Stay tuned for more . . . ]
Would The CW cancel a Buffy-tastic star like Sarah Michelle Gellar? They would not! Her new series RInger [photo above] has gotten a full-season pickup, despite lagging ratings -- because, hey, it's The CW, how high could the bar be?
Also getting that back-nine order: Fox's New GIrl [photo below], virtually an instant hit with indie movie doll Zooey Deschanel. The CW's not-so-widely-watched Hart of Dixie and The Secret Circle will also get a full season. And Fox announced its Terra Nova dino-adventure will present a two-hour season (series?) finale on Dec. 19, which seems to guarantee it two more months and all 13 episodes aired.
NBC has ordered six more scripts for Maria Bello's gritty NYC cop drama Prime Suspect (now getting double pumped on Monday as well as Thursday) and for Kathy Bates' funky legal hour Harry's Law.
Another show gone kablooey -- H8R, the CW celebreality gawkfest. And CBS stopped production on its Thursday flameout How to Be a Gentleman, banishing the sitcom to Saturdays till its existing episodes play out.
