I've been fielding a lot of emails and comments since Tuesday's Fresh Air with Terry Gross appearance, when I talked with Terry about the best and worst, and other issues, involving TV.
Many of you have asked how I could leave a specific series off my Top 10, and even my Top 20. Fair questions.
Maybe this will help, and maybe it won't.
It's another Top 10 list, which I compiled at the request of Multichannel News, limited to the much narrower focus of the best new cable and satellite shows of 2011.
And it includes some shows left off my other Top 10, including HBO's Game of Thrones and FX's Lights Out...
First, HERE'S the official NPR Fresh Air posting of my end-of-year chat with Terry, and my Top 10 (led by AMC's Breaking Bad, seen at the top of this column), which includes links to earlier stories and radio reports.
(Thanks to Melody Kramer for assembling all that... photos, additional copy, and all.)
Next, HERE'S the link to my Dec. 19 Multichannel News cover story.
The magazine version has a full-color layout with lots of photos. The link to the online version is more austere, but still has the copy, and my top 10 among freshman cable series.
More to digest. More to applaud.
And, I'm guessing, more with which to disagree...
