After a 10 year musical hiatus, David Bowie announced the release of the new single and music video "Where Are We Now?" this week. Bowie has made scant appearances over the past decade, but we very well remember his 2006 guest shot as himself on the Ricky Gervais series Extras. (Ricky's character Andy starts up a conversation with David in a lounge bar, and Bowie proceeds to improvise a piano song mocking him, called "The Fat Little Man.") The new short makes us remember a time when the music video was an art form as important as the song itself – in this case, a melancholic, signature Bowie meditation on his time in Berlin. No word on who his puppet companion is, but we're still looking. –EG
