The Colbert Report had the get of the day on Friday: The empty chair from Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention. On Thursday night, Eastwood directed questions to the chair as though he was speaking to an invisible President Barack Obama, questioning the president's policies and suggesting that he ought not be re-elected to a second term. Eastwood's RNC stunt inspired social media users to share photos of empty chairs in an instant internet meme known as "Eastwooding," but leave it to Stephen Colbert to take it to the next level. -EG
