The time has not yet come when TV Worth Watching rules television itself (or at least one channel stocked 24/7 with smart and cool programs). But we CAN stream this Friday's premiere of Starz' Kelsey Grammer political drama Boss. The premium cabler is sneaking the entire hour to entice viewers to a series it likes so much, Starz has already ordered a second season.
Grammer pretty much buries his warm-and-cuddly Frasier Crane persona with his portrayal of an iron-fisted Chicago mayor with ruthless chops and secrets up the wazoo.
Co-starring are Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) as his don't-ask-don't-tell wife, Kathleen Robertson (Tin Man) as his devoted right-hand operative, Martin Donovan (Weeds) as his senior adviser, and Troy Garity (Soldier's Girl) as a reporter who sniffs a bombshell story.
