Showtime Explores the Science of Sex
September 26, 2013  | By Al Mannarino

After an impressive eight year run, Showtime's hit serial killer drama, Dexter, has finally come to an end. With Dexter finished, Showtime has focused its attention on developing new series to fill the void. The surprising Ray Donovan was one, and now another, Masters of Sex is set to premiere this month. It tells the story of Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and his assistant Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) as they explore the science behind sexuality. Showtime has released the pilot online before the series premiere September 29. The show will undoubtably contain a lot of adult content and running a full adult cable episode is an experiment for TVWW. Does the show have what it takes to fill the void left by Dexter? Is it on the same level of drama as Ray Donovan? Sound off below.   - Al Mannarino
