Slow News Is Great News
The Onion is famous for satirizing any and all sorts of topics in the news as well as items they’ve touted as true that are far from it. The Peabody Award-winning website has written so convincingly at times that their stories have been passed along as the real thing. And now the funny folks at The Onion have put together what one might call a template for TV coverage of a news story. We at TVWW feel compelled to remind you that, unlike Orson Welles’ 1938 hysteria-inducing War of the Worlds radio broadcast, which was complete fiction, what you’re hearing in this video may be bullsh*t but the story you’re seeing is undoubtedly true. -- Linda Donovan
