TVWW is taking its annual look at The Year in TV this week, and part of that includes this video from high above everything. It's Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield doing his version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" on the eve of his return to Earth last May after nearly five months on board the International Space Station. Hadfield changed lyrics around a bit to fit his situation (“lock your Soyuz hatch and put your helmet on") since he was returning safely to earth – unlike Bowie's grimly stranded "Major Tom." Hadfield gained pop status in Canada with the video and a robust Twitter feed during his time in space. –EG
