As the New England Patriots’ coach Bill Belichick tried to illustrate, all this kerfuffle over underinflated footballs can be explained through simple science: the weather made them do it. The footballs, that is. During his press conference last weekend, Professor Belichick described how the weather conditions could have affected the air pressure in the game balls. Or not, according to Bill Nye the Science Guy. Here the modern day Mr. Wizard explains the faulty physics as well as another area of science where, he says, the truth is clear. – Linda Donovan
