This day in 1999 marked the last telecast of the CBS drama, The Magnificent Seven: The Series. The show was an adaptation of John Sturges' classic 1960 movie of the same name starring Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Eli Wallach and Robert Vaughn, in which seven men from different walks of life band together to protect a town from the lawlessness of the West. The 1960 movie was an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 Japanese film, Seven Samurai.
The CBS series, which ran two seasons, starred Michael Biehn, Eric Close, Dale Midkiff and Ron Perlman, among others. Original Magnificent Seven star Robert Vaughn made regualr guest appearances as a judge.
