1994: The Debut of CBS's 'Muddling Through'
On this day in 1994, CBS introduced the sitcom Muddling Through. The series starred Nurses' Stephanie Hodge as the newly-paroled Connie Drego, who spent three years in the slammer for shooting her cheating husband Sonny in the behind.
Connie returns to the diner/motel she owns and finds things a bit changed. Her eldest daughter, 18-year-old Madeline (Jennifer Aniston) — who continued to run the business while her mother was in prison —is married to the police officer whose testimony resulted in Connie's conviction. Her 16-year-old daughter (Aimee Brooks) is more focused on boys than school, and the unemployed Sonny (D. David Morin) is living rent-free in a cabin behind the diner.
The network aired 10 episodes.
