On this day in 1993, CBS debuted the drama Walker, Texas Ranger. The series starred Chuck Norris as martial arts-practicing Texas Ranger Cordell Walker who fights crime along with his partner, James "Jimmy" Trivette (Clarence Gilyard). The series also starred Sheree J. Wilson as an assistant DA (and Walker's eventual wife).

The series ran eight seasons; for two of those seasons the show ranked in the Nielsen;s Top 20, for five it was in the Top 30.
