ABC's remake featured Rich Man, Poor Man and The Jericho Mile star Peter Strauss, and was written and directed by the show's original creator, Blake Edwards, with the hope of launching a Perry Mason-style series of telefilms. Co-stars included Jennifer Edwards, Barbara Williams and Peter Jurasik.
