2001: HBO Introduces 'Six Feet Under'
This day in 2001 marked the debut of the HBO drama, Six Feet Under.
The acclaimed ensemble series, which ran five seasons, revolved around the Fisher family, owners of a Los Angeles funeral home. The business was run by brothers Nate and David Fisher, portrayed by Peter Krause and future Dexter star Michael C. Hall, who took over the family business after the death of their father (Richard Jenkins). Frances Conroy portrayed their mother, Ruth Fisher, and Lauren Ambrose their teenage sister, Claire.
Supporting cast included Freddy Roriguez, Rachel Griffiths, Matthew St. Patrick, Jeremy Sisto, Joanna Cassidy, Patricia Clarkson, Lili Taylor, Kathy Bates, Rainn Wilson, Justin Theroux, Peter Facinelli and Mena Suvari.
