My So-Called Life, the critically acclaimed but viewer-deficient drama about teenage angst, had its season finale on this day in 1995.  The show, starring a 15-year-old Claire Danes (Temple Grandin, Homeland), lasted only one season due to its regrettable ratings but also, reportedly, due to its star’s reluctance to return for another season. A number of serious topics were examined on the drama along with the storylines of the troubles, concerns, and the miseries of teenage life in the mid-1990s. Despite its single season, My So-Called Life was nominated for many awards and won a few including a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series – Drama for Claire Danes.
