On this day in 2003, HBO debuted the weekly, live political talker, Real Time with Bill Maher. The cable series followed the 2002 cancellation of Maher's ABC series, Politically Incorrect (which originally debuted on Comedy Central).
The series features a panel of politically-savvy guests — including politicians, journalists, professors and pundits — discussing current news and events, as well as a Maher monologue and one-on-one interviews with newsmakers.
