‘The Address’ isn’t on Sesame Street
February 28, 2014  | By Eric Gould

We first learned about Ken Burns’ celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address last year, with many celebrities participating in the project with their own video recitals. Burns’ upcoming film, The Address, is about a school in Vermont where each year boys with learning challenges memorize the Gettysburg speech and recite it in public. In this charming version, Elmo learns from Sesame Workshop co-founder Joan Ganz Cooney that the address isn’t a place but an important speech in American history. The Burns documentary premieres April 19th on PBS. -- Eric Gould
