This is No Jenny From the Block
As part of a BBC special hosted by Graham Norton, producers rounded up nine Adele impersonators, supposedly to audition for a reality show. They’re a varied lot, including one drag queen, and they all seem kind and concerned about each other, and some can carry a tune pretty well. Imagine their reaction when the tenth contestant, an extremely nervous woman introduced as Jenny, starts to sing, and they slowly realize she is no impersonator at all, but their idol, the real deal, in a clever disguise. It’s an emotionally powerful moment. The singer is scheduled to perform on NBC’s Today Show Wednesday morning.
