Marking the second year of his passing, HBO will premiere The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling on March 28. Produced and directed by long-time friend and confident Judd Apatow, the documentary is a loving tribute to Shandling’s enormous talent and his influence on fellow comedians including Jerry Seinfeld, Conan O’Brien, Kevin Nealon, Sasha Baron Cohen, and many, many others. The Archive of American Television posted an in-depth interview with Shandling in 2011, giving his brilliant mind free rein. The first hour is shown here. –Eric Gould
